Discontinuation of Blog

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for supporting the Clydesdale Rescue blog over the last few years.

As the administration side of CR has become more time consuming, and of course the on the ground tasks still remain our priority, we have made the decision to discontinue the blog as it has been superseded by the CR forum.

The Clydesdale Rescue forum is a lively, active community with 80 members and daily postings. Update photos, reports and news are posted here, and you can meet other supporters, post about your own horses and find out about the daily goings on at CR. You can join the forum by going to :

Latest Update

Finally! I had all these plans for Christmas cards, Christmas news and decorations on the website, but as usual, life got in the way and you’ll all just have to imagine how splendiferous it would have been :)

So here we are, up to date until today, the 15th of January. All the horses are looking good and no doubt enjoying the warmer weather.

Please enjoy and look for the other updates to the site in the next week or so!

Odie

Yes Odie, there is someone behind you … but he’s being veeerry sneaky…

Odie and Stump

Jessie, Chase and Sabrina

Jessie (front), Chase (middle) and Sabrina (nee Ponkey) go for a run down to the dam.

Jessie

Billy and Zeus

Billy and Zeus are best buds, they hang out together all day, every day. They look a great deal better than they did when they first arrived as part of “the nine”!

Follow the Leader

Stumpy is in charge! Paddy, Odie and Piccolo follow the leader down to the shed for feed time … :)

Stumpy runs!

This is about his favourite thing to do now - zoom around without a care in the world! This is the BEST reward for all those generous people who gave to help Stumpy through his leg surgeries, and now … just look at him go!

Gwen -mum to be!

We estimate she has been 3 and 8 weeks before she is due, but I will make an announcement in the days before she foals. It’s a shame we don’t have foal cam! She is looking wonderful, she is a fantastic mare and we have all fingers and toes crossed that the baby of Gwen and Scotty will be a beauty :)

Paddy and Christina

Christina with Paddy, who also loves the attention, loves a groom … a carrot … being dressed up as a super hero …

Paddy

Stump has visitors

Stump loves visitors - and Christina, who came to help out over the holidays, loved Stump! So it was a perfect combo …

Stumpy

Carrot time?

Well we can only hope … :)

Silly Spotty

Can’t leave this guy alone for 5 minutes! I had all the rugs out on the line drying and had gone into town. When I came back, I found that Spotty had walked under the line, somehow managed to maneouvre underneath one of the rugs, put his head through the tail section [and rip it of course] then unpeg it and walk off with it on! I was quite bemused why he had a winter rug on inside out until I realised what he’d done… :)

Spotty

Chase

Chase hasn’t had a lot of publicity - he’s one of “the nine”. He is such a handsome fellow, perhaps some suffolk punch in him as well as he is very cobby and well muscled. He is in tip top condition now, and will be ready for a new home very soon!

Chase

Charlie

Charlie likes to stand outside my window, just as a reminder, in case I forget, that it might be dinner time soon … or breakfast … or lunch … or carrot time …

The Stump

Stumpy loves playing with his friend Suzy the border collie - whether it’s the colour or the size, these two get along like a house on fire:)
